After reaching Lake Baikal, Sam decides to part ways with his companions, reasoning that while Miller's death marked the end of their journey, his was still incomplete, as he never stopped longing for his home and to see his father again. he finally reaches the tsunami-ravaged ruins of Vladivostok in hopes of finding a way to return to the United States and reunite with his family.
