Need for Speed Heat is the kind of game that reinvigorates the franchise. With so many things to do, so much to explore and unlock, it’s a complete experience with an extreme racing intensity that's somewhat hampered by tedious grinding at later levels and the extreme difficulty of high Heat levels. If you haven’t gotten into a Need for Speed game in a while, this is probably the time to finally hop back in.
Replaced is pixel-perfect for players who want to immerse themselves in a rich, atmospheric cyberpunk world, yet Sad Cat Studios pushes it to the brink of being enjoyable. It’s a bit of a shame; Replaced is only a few tweaks away from greatness, but right now it doesn’t quite get there, with slow pacing, sluggish gameplay, and a narrative that doesn’t always hold up.
Terminator 2D No Fate is the arcade masterpiece we deserved in 1991, finally delivered in 2025. Bitmap Bureau has crafted a pixel-perfect tribute to one of cinema’s greatest achievements, where every frame of animation and grueling boss pattern drips with sweat and passion. From the pitch-perfect synth score to the hidden Easter eggs, it’s more than just a game. it’s a neon-soaked love letter to the Judgement Day era. Better late than never? Absolutely.
The Call of Duty franchise faces a crisis with Black Ops 7, which worsens existing flaws. Its uninspired level design shifts the game from grounded realism to a fantasy shooter with monsters. A disastrous co-op campaign further ruins the experience. Ultimately, Call of Duty Black Ops 7 feels like a parody of Black Ops 2.
Assassin's Creed Mirage Valley of Memory is an excellent and much-needed expansion for the game! It was awesome to reconnect with Basim, and the new campaign, while short, is intense and tells a beautiful story of reunion and closure. Furthermore, the gameplay changes are truly amazing, and this expansion is exactly what the game needed!
Battlefield 6 is a spectacular, globe-trotting first-person shooter experience built on a foundation of solid, satisfying gunplay. While the narrative for the elite Dagger 1-3 squad is a bit short and light on depth, it's packed with unforgettable, cinematic set pieces and phenomenal visuals. Ultimately, it's an explosive joyride that's ripe for a sequel.
While Assassin's Creed Shadows Claws of Awaji may not rank among the series' absolute best expansions, it's nonetheless a worthwhile and inventive addition. It skillfully condenses the strengths of the main game onto a smaller, focused island, finally delivering a satisfying and conclusive end to the narrative.
Heavy Rain is a frustrating chore. The controls are a joke simple actions like opening a door or picking up a glass become an awkward series of gestures and key combinations. The camera constantly fights you, snapping to unhelpful angles that make it a pain just to walk in a straight line. It's less of a thriller and more of a "chore simulator," where you spend more time fighting the controls than enjoying the story.
Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is a deeply disappointing experience. The gameplay feels awkward, and the survival mechanics come across as boring and tedious—like being stuck in Bear Grylls survival mode for the entire game. This constant busywork, combined with overly long cutscenes, makes the game feel like it is 30% actual gameplay, 60% cutscenes, and 10% survival management. While it might appeal to hardcore fans of the series, it likely won't land well with the rest of the world.
The latest installment from Codemasters sets a new benchmark for F1 games. Its excellent presentation and impressively realistic handling create a deeply immersive experience. Opponents react with a believable intelligence, making every race feel authentic and challenging. However, the most significant improvement is the story mode, which is arguably the best the franchise has ever seen. It has the potential to keep players hooked for hours on end, proving to be a truly captivating addition to a stellar racing game.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a breathtaking evolution of the open-world formula, blending masterful storytelling, great combat, refined stealth mechanics, and stunning visuals. With a gripping dual-protagonist narrative and a meticulously crafted historical setting, the game's immersive gameplay makes it the finest installment of a legendary franchise and one of the best action-adventure titles of the year.
