Medal of Honor Warfighter has potential and tries to renew some elements, but mostly gets caught in old concepts. A missed opportunity, because it could have been of added value to the genre given its trust in its own character and content. The game also seems to be rushed out onto the market, which left the window wide open for bugs to crawl in and walk all over the experience as a whole. this is another game that cannot reach the quality of its predecessors, especially the first titles in the series.
If you can buy one game in 2012, it should be Dishonored. From production to its ingenious gameplay, Arkhane Studios' title is outstanding, with its multiple references to many games such as Deus Ex, Thief, Bioshock or Half Life 2. It's simple, Dishonored is a 2-in-1 game you can finish either with violence and lots of action sequences, or with discretion, applying stealth strategies to kill your enemies without being seen.
The series is pretty much dead at this point. The Agent 47 character has been ruined. The gameplay has been ruined. It's very daunting. The absence of a quick save or even a proper working logical checkpoint system makes the game hugely frustrating and unplayable in my opinion unless you like to redo long parts of the game over and over. Ridiculous. Such a shame.
I was hoping for a story game like the first one. What I got was a crappy knockoff that tossed everything cool about the first one and replaced it with garbage. There is no work to get the best cars. They are just given to you to pick up off the street. There is no sense of accomplishment or any story at all. It is just simply cool cars driving around in a city avoiding cops. This is the worst Need for Speed game i have ever played.
Assassin's Creed III may not be the sequel I hoped for, but it remains another solid entry in the time-bending franchise. The setting is a lot of fun to explore and the first half really works on a storytelling level. Unfortunately, the quality is thwarted by a weak villain, boring hero, and frustrating mission designs. Couple that with a disappointing ending and it's hard to be enthusiastic about Ubisoft's latest Assassin's Creed game.
A very pleasant surprise The single-player is far better than any other standard first-person shooter I have ever played. With a great story, the game has far more replay value than any other Call Of Duty to date with key decisions affecting the story of the game. Call of Duty Black Ops II is one of the best Call of Duty games ever released.
What's the worst that can happen to a fighter jet game? Playing it feels like sitting in a slow train. There's no difference between Mach 2 and the speed of a mallard, no difference between the F-117 Nighthawk and the Mirage III, and to crash your plane, you need to deliberately go for it. Only when there are far too many enemies, H.A.W.X. poses a challenge and never exploits its full potential.
This is so cool! It's a great way to pass the time, the concept is genius, it's simple, it's fun for everybody, includes some power ups and alot of strategy, and it's a great finger exercise for gaming! One of the best smasher game ever played.
While StarCraft II Heart of the Swarm definitely sets the groundwork for the next game, it doesn’t do it in a cheap way that leaves you frustrated and cursing at where the game decided to end. Kerrigan stole my heart and made me understand the Swarm. Now my eyes are focused on the Void.
Bioshock Infinite is a visionary piece of entertainment where the gameplay, characters, art style and story all come together to make what undoubtedly will be considered one of the best games of this generation. Like it's ancestor, Bioshock Infinite should be in the hall of fame of videogames.
A dumb shooter that feels like a rubbish stealth section dragged out across the length of an entire game. Please avoid Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 at all costs it will destroy your mental balance with a single shot.
Aliens Colonial Marines is more than a disappointment. It's downright depressing. I can't say if it's the result of a lacking budget, rushed development, or sheer carelessness, but having the nerve to present this as a full retail game is inexcusable. It's simply not finished, and it certainly isn't worthy of being considered a legitimate followup to Aliens.
Crysis 3's campaign disappoints; its story isn't compelling, the storytelling itself doesn't help it, the level design remains an ordinary one, the difficulty is not well-balanced, and overall, there's no real risk taken creatively at any point in it. It's a game of appearances without substance; visually strong, but that's it.
Rebooting Tomb Raider is the best thing that could have happened to the series. The game is full of story-wise emotions and superbly directed action scenes, and it still has a very strong human factor. Crystal Dynamics took a risk that won't appeal to some orthodox fans, but all in all the developers have succeeded. The new Tomb Raider is one of the best action-adventure games I have ever played.
