Sid Meier's Civilization III

2/10

Honestly, I just didn't get the hype with Sid Meier's Civilization III. Spent hours staring at a pixelated map, moving little units around at a snail's pace. The interface felt clunky, and trying to figure out what all the different buildings and technologies did felt like deciphering ancient hieroglyphics. By the time something interesting finally happened, I was already bored out of my mind. Definitely not my idea of fun.

As a pretty solid Star Wars strategy game, Galactic Battlegrounds definitely has a winning game model, and if you love Star Wars and enjoy Real-time strategy games, look no further.

Empire Earth

What makes this such a compelling feature is that you actually have different sets of units, heroes and buildings for each of the epochs, translating into over 200 different combat units, structures and era-appropriate historical heroes to command your armies. Empire Earth is the most comprehensive real-time strategy wargame ever produced.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon's painfully outdated graphics, clunky controls, and overly slow, tedious gameplay make Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon the worst game of the year.

IL-2 Sturmovik

IL-2 Sturmovik is a bad experience from the start. Endless solo missions, a slog of a campaign, and choppy gameplay. Customization is a headache, handling is clunky, and the graphics are dated. Please avoid this game at any cost

Simply put, Return to Castle Wolfenstein isn't just a contender; it is the game of the year! It masterfully takes the core elements of every great shooter and elevates them to a new level. Once you delve into its immersive world, you'll find it's not just fantastic, but utterly and delightfully addictive.

Mediocre graphics, poor design choices, and unfinished features sink what could otherwise have been a fine game.

Serious Sam The Second Encounter

If it's heart-pounding action you crave, this anything-but-serious sequel should slap a smile on your face. Anyone who enjoys frenzied shooting and zany physics will be very happy to own this one.

Medal of Honor Allied Assault

It's hard to remember many games as cinematic and immersive as Medal of Honor Allied Assault. Simply put, it's the best first-person shooter we've played in years.

Frank Herbert's Dune

The game utterly fails to capture the majesty and mystery of the Dune universe, turning it into an interactive Saturday morning cartoon and a bad one at that. Toss this one to the worms.

Command & Conquer Renegade truly excels at immersing you in the heart of a massive, chaotic war, offering a uniquely visceral first-person shooter experience unlike anything else in recent memory. Its brilliant fusion of shooter action and real-time strategy is simply outstanding.

Jane's Attack Squadron

While the game's flight mechanics and damage model provide some enjoyment, the few missions that ship with the program are uninvolving. Overall, Jane's Attack Squadron is a game with myriad problems and shortcomings.

Trains & Trucks Tycoon

This game is not for everyone, it's not just a business simulation, nor just a railroad building game, but an educational competition where only the forward thinker survives and thrives.
